A Niftylift boom at last year's Access Days show.

The Niftylift–organised Access Days event, held at the Kingfisher Golf and Country Club, Deanshanger, near Milton Keynes, goes from strength to strength, adding several big name dealers and manufacturers to its exhibitor list this year and also extending its duration from two to three days –the same three days as the SED show.

A notable new addition to the line up is Russon Access, a UK dealer for Manitou and Holland Lift. (Russon also retains its SED booth.) Italian manufacturers Hinowa and Braviisol both take part, and Access Days stalwarts Skyjack, APS, Blue Line Access, Snorkel and Niftylift itself are in attendance as usual.

As in previous years there will a dedicated demonstration area where visitors can try the machines. The event will start each day with breakfast at around 10.00 am and there will be transport to and from SED. There is a barbeque at lunch and then evening entertainment.

Although very much a social event, equipment still plays a big part, and this year will see several new machines. Blueline Access, for example, will have three truck mounts on show, the Bronto S55xDT and two machines of his own design and manufacture, the Ascendant A22/77 and A17/12. This latter machine is the new 12 m outreach model.

Niftylift will show its complete range of trailer mounted and self propelled booms, as well as the “UK launch of an all new, innovative power system”, and Skyjack will show a wide rage of its scissors. Like the German Platformers Days event, the show ends every day with a very busy bar, and often some impromptu music. As Tim Ward, Niftylift's sales manager, says, “Be warned, you will be expected to sing for your supper!”
