Morrow Equipment Co. has ordered an additional 20 hoists from Alimak Hek, bringing the number of Alimak hoists it has purchased since early 2005 to approximately 200. The latest deal was signed during the 2007 Bauma Expo in Munich, Germany.

The hoists ordered are Alimak Scando 650 FC 32/39 with a lifting height of 54 meters (177 feet). They will be delivered during October and November this year and will be available throughout Morrow's 11 facilities in the US. Alimak Hek's new remote control system, A3, is also included in the latest deal.

A3 is an online system for remote control of vertical access equipment, collecting operational information and data, such as time and number of starts and stops, hours in operation, etc. Depending on the control system used it can also serve as a fault tracing device, tracing faults for quick and easy action in order to keep down–time to a minimum. Information is fed via the Internet, e–mail or online, or via cell phones to the supervisor.

Morrow Equipment owns and operates the largest fleet of tower cranes in North America and delivers construction and material handling customers a wide range of services at 23 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
