On-road hitch

Premium Content

19 March 2008

Although the 40 kph on–road travel speed is eyecatching, transforming the machine into on–road use is not completely straightforward.

The basket has to be manually removed from the boom and turned around. Then the operator has to lower in the boom and manually hitch up and connect the basket (see photo).

This reduces the front overhang on the unit when traveling, but it is a process that can take around five minutes and may well make the MPRs difficult to market as self–drive machines.
