Outdoor noise

Premium Content

17 March 2008

IPAF is consulting the access industry on the likely impact of proposed changes to European Directive 2000/14/EC, noise emission in the environment by equipment for use outdoors.

One of the issues under study is whether or not MEWPs should be moved from Annex 13 (equipment that must have a noise level marking) to Annex 12 (equipment with a noise limit), with a noise limit of 94 dBA.

Comments on the practicality of the proposed limit and the likely sources of noise when using MEWPs can be sent to Gil Male, IPAF technical officer.
