Aldercote launches promise optimised lifting and safety

Vehicle mount access platform manufacturer Aldercote is launching a range of safety features and a new van mounted platform.
The Elevated Protection suite of innovative safety features will appear alongside the VZ140 Neo, offering greater reach and capacity, at the Vertikal Days exhibition taking place in the UK, 10 – 11 September.

“It’s been a busy year at Aldercote – with our engineers pushing the boundaries of engineering and design with every project. I’m delighted to announce the launch of Elevated Protection and the much-anticipated VZ140 Neo,” said Marc Paish, managing director.
Elevated Protection offers three safety features, including the Hold harness anchor system that alerts operators if they’re not clipped in. It is designed to greatly reduce the risk of falls and its usage can be recorded, therefore operator compliance can be monitored if required.
Crush protection feature Recoil sees the machine automtically reversing direction when it comes into contact with a hazard. According to Aldercote the intuitive feature is designed to be simple and is built into the fabric of the machine – giving operators the confidence to work safely at height, and has been described by IPAF’s Head of Safety and Technical, Brian Parker as ‘a significant advancement in the field of crush protection’.
Thirdly, Shield offers three levels of defence against electrocution, from an insulated basket and harness to fully insulating fibreglass booms.
“We developed these features using real feedback from operators and fleet managers, understanding their needs and concerns and looking at safety from an engineer’s perspective – rather than simply accepting what’s gone before,” said Paish.

Aldercote is also introducing the VZ 140 Neo, which according to the company responds to industry demands for payload, combined with efficiency, compliance and reach. The model offers an additional 35cm of vertical, and 25cm of horizontal reach compared to the company’s popular VZ135.
“Impressive weight savings mean that when paired with our award-winning jack-less transit conversion, it offers over 500kg of spare payload - alongside transporting two operators and a full tank of fuel,” said Paish. “Our slew sensitive outreach, which allows greater reach over the front and rear, means that the working envelope is also enhanced.”
Paish added, “Elevated Protection and the VZ140 Neo are perfect examples of how we combine operator feedback, rigorous design and safety-first thinking to create industry-leading solutions. We can’t wait for our customers to experience them.”
