New safety and productivity accessories from Genie
11 September 2025
Genie is introducing three new accessories for its boom and scissor lifts, designed to ehance safety and productivity. They are available globally and are set to be shown at exhibitions in the UK, France and Italy during the third quarter of this year.

“Genie is actively improving and expanding available options and accessories for use across our boom lift and scissor lift product lines. The goal is to help end users be more productive and provide rental companies with tools to increase fleet utilisation within our current product portfolio,” said Dominik Damm, Director of Product Management, Booms Portfolio.
Lift Guard Lanyard Alert is a new secondary guarding system designed to encourage boom lift operators to attach their harness lanyards to established platform anchor points.
It is available in standard and advanced configurations, which provide visual and audible warning alarms when the operator’s fall system lanyard is not attached to the anchor point inside the platform. This system is comparable to the automotive industry’s universal adoption of seatbelt in-use while driving warning systems.
The advanced configuration prevents machine functions until the operator’s lanyard is attached. Genie is the only OEM to develop a solution that prevents operation as well as a standard warning system, giving the customer the option on level of protection required by application.

“In some markets, such as in the UK, many contractors are requiring a lanyard warning device in order to bring boom lifts onto jobsites. It’s an important next step in the progression of operator protection,” Damm said.
Lanyard Alert can be ordered as a factory-fit option or retrofitted to all Genie boom models manufactured as of 2003. Both Lanyard Alert and Lanyard Alert Advanced are compliant with ANSI, CSA, CE, UKCA and AS standards.
Lighting the way
A second device, the Lift Guard Zone Lighting is a new perimeter lighting system for GS scissor lifts that helps users avoid collision, entrapment, or injury from dropped objects.
Glass laser lights project a visible boundary at ground level about 2-3 feet / 61 cm away from the edge of the chassis, depending on the model. This helps operators see the perimeter clearance and signals nearby workers that they may be entering the scissor lift’s work zone.
Zone Lighting will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in Q4 2025, and the rest of the world in early 2026.
Confined access
Thirdly, building on the popularity of its Lift Tools Access Deck accessory—which is already available for several models of its scissor lifts in North America—Genie is expanding Access Deck availability to all regions globally.

The Access Deck improves access and productivity when performing tasks in hard-to-reach areas like rafters, ducts, and ceiling panels by adding as much as 22in/55.88cm of working height, depending on the model. It is easily removable, allowing it to be transferred between machines as needed.
Access Deck is currently available in ANSI markets for GS-1432m, GS-1932m, GS-1930 and GS-1932 E-Drive slab scissor lifts. In other regions, it is available for the GS-1932, GS-2632 and GS-3232 next-generation slab scissor lifts.
The three accessories are being shown at Vertikal Days,10-11 September, in the UK, 17-19 September during Journées du Levage (JDL Expo) in France, and 25-27 September at the GIS Expo in Italy.
