Media Access Solutions spends US$4.1m on hybrid lifts

Niftylift’s HR21 articulating booms

Specialist rental company Media Access Solutions (MAS) in the UK has placed a £3 million (US$4.1m) order with manufacturer Niftylift for 25 MEWPs.

The order comprises 12 of the Niftylift HR28 articulating booms, 10 of the HR21 model and three HR17 booms, which respectively offer maximum working heights of 28metres, 20.8m and 17.2m.

The three largest hybrid models in Niftylift’s HeightRider range, the self-propelled machines incorporate an EU Stage V compliant engine and an electric motor that lowers fuel consumption while retaining performance efficiency.

According to Niftylift, they also include its Diesel Re-Gen feature, which recharges the batteries when the machine is idling, and an electric-only mode that produces zero emissions for work in low-emission environments and indoor applications. 

Steve Barker, director at MAS, said, “Our fleet is now 75 percent Niftylift and their unrivalled hybrid Systems, also improves our carbon footprint.”

“We have been very highly utilised on these machines for a long time now, with a great return on capital and a back up service”.

The largest single order the rental company has made to date, Barker said, “We are also proud to have the largest fleet of HR28 hybrid 4x4s in the world, their 280kg basket capacity is ideal for our niche market”.
