Merlo buys out German subsidiary

Merlo has taken full ownership of its German subsidiary Merlo Deutschland.

The investment in 100% of the shares in the Cuneo-based subsidiary marks a new phase in its commitment to the German market, said Merlo, and builds on 33 years of success with its local partner in the country.

Merlo Deutschland was previously owned by the Clewing family, the owners of Heinrichs Holding GmbH. “This decision is part of a history built on trust, common values and a shared vision, ensuring full operational continuity,” said Paolo Merlo, CEO of the Merlo Group. “Like Henrich Clewing, I believe that this new structure will maximise the company’s potential by strengthening the brand’s presence and ensuring long-term growth and success.”

The Clewing family will maintain an operational role within the organisation, with Henrich continuing to lead Merlo Deutschland as its Managing Director, supported by a team of 50 experienced employees.

Merlo said the acquisition, “is designed to further strengthen the Merlo Group’s presence in Germany and consolidate its relationships with local customers and partners.

“Thanks to this new configuration, Merlo will be able to follow the German market even more directly and closely, guaranteeing customers increasingly personalised, timely and effective support.

“This step recognises the work carried out so far and aims to further raise the standards of quality, reliability and service that have characterised Merlo’s business in Germany for over thirty years.”
