A family business

Premium Content

24 April 2008

Nacanco was founded in Spain in 1982 by Gabriele Giusto, and is still 70% owned by the family. The Italian business, established in 2001, is 63% Giusto-owned, with a further 33% stake recently acquired by its sister company, Nacanco Spain.

This 33% shareholding, says Stefano Giusto, demonstrates that the two businesses are a sole entity. Further emphasising the link is the fact that Pedro Torres, general manager of Nacanco in Spain - and a shareholder in the company- is acting general manager of Nacanco Italy.

Gabriele Giusto stopped working full-time in 2002 but still attends important management and board meetings. He has three sons and a nephew currently working in Italy: Stefano is business development manager for both Italian and Spanish businesses; Marzia is the financial manager in Italy; Roberto is head of the quality control department; and Antonio Olivari is commercial manager in the sales department.
