UK-based rental company AFI used 26 compact Bravi Leonardo self-propelled platforms to install dry line walling at a new hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.

Astins, the hospital’s cladding contractor, specified the battery-powerd Leonardo following a visit to AFI’s Glasgow depot to see it work. “Astins needed lightweight and versatile machines to install dry line walling. They also needed to be narrow enough to pass through standard doorways,” said an AFI spokesman.

In addition, AFI had to take into consideration reduced point loadings on the floors of the £842 m Southern General Hospital. The Leonardo has a working height of 4.90 m and weighs 450 kg, meaning it could meet all the hospital’s cladding requirements. It can also turn within its own axis, making it extremely manouevrable, added the manufacturer.

AFI has one of the UK’s largest fleets of small and compact machines, including 79 Leonardos.
