AFI Aerial Platforms in the UK says demand for its training - for powered access, mobile access towers and safety harnesses - has surged in demand a following the introduction of the new Work at Height Regulations.

“The regulations state the minimum requirements for the use of equipment”, says AFI training manager Paul Maxwell, “and because employers have a duty of care to ensure that work at height is properly planned, appropriately supervised and carried out in a safe manner, many businesses are now realising that it's vital that they ensure that their employees are properly trained.”

AFI, one of the UK's largest access rental specialists, says it has seen “big increases in bookings” of the IPAF powered access training and the PASMA mobile access tower courses.

AFI is now expanding the scope of its training by introducing a new manual handling awareness course, covering typical manual handling injuries and giving guidance on correct lifting, pushing and pulling techniques.
