Two large semi-submersible drilling rigs were in dry dock at Harland and Wolff's shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where inspection, repair and upgrading work was carried out. Specialist construction services and protective coatings group Pyeroy Ltd was contracted to supply and erect scaffolding access and containment around both rigs, together with surface preparation, blasting and cleaning services. Both rigs are owned by Dolphin Drilling Ltd, and work on the Byford Dolphin was completed in January this year, while the second rig, the Borgstein Dolphin, is due to leave the yard this month.
