AIF produces free fall prevention advise

Premium Content

26 August 2014

The Access Industry Forum (AIF) has produced a free pocket-sized card giving essential guidance on how to avoid, prevent and minimise the risk of a fall.

A quick and easy reference – already welcomed by Working Well Together (WWT) and available at all its Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHADs) – it can fit on a desk, in a toolbox or pocket.

It highlights the need for any work at height to be properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people as required by the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

A series of bullet points emphasise the key factors for height safety, including the need to undertake a risk assessment and give priority to collective over personal protection measures.

The reverse gives the contact details for all nine of the specialist trade bodies that comprise the Forum. Each organisation represents a different sector of the access industry – from ladders and access towers to mobile elevating work platforms and mast climbers.

PocketCards can be ordered for free simply by requesting them in an email to [email protected]
