Italy-based Airo Tigieffe has been increasing its presence in emerging markets with new distributors and product sales.

One of those markets is Algeria where Airo distributor Bativert, based in Tizi Ouzou, has purchased a number of platforms including vertical masts and articulated booms, both diesel and electric only. Among the machines are the 23 m working height 23 J RTD boom and the newly launched XS 8 E Restyling - the later being the smallest in the range.

Bativert presented the whole Airo range during the Batimatec 2014 exhibition held in Algiers at the beginning of May.

Airo has also received its first orders from Saudi Arabia and signed up distributor Hassan Omar Bamanie (HOBSCO), which has 40 years experince of equipment distribution in the country.

HOBSCO has already sold a 12 m working height electric platform, the 12 J E and a 14 working height X14 EW vertical mast. The company will have a customer open house at its depot 16 November.

Another new dealer for Airo HMF Makina, based in Istanbul, Turkey, presented the manufacturer’s machines for the first time during the Uluslararası İş Makinaları Kongresi exhibition in September last year. It has started with Airo’s X10 EW and X 12 EW vertical masts, but the selection of machines will be extended in coming months.

Airo has also found sales in Israel, with Shai Magen Forklifts recently purchasing a range of scissor lifts and signing a distribution agreement for the manufacturer in its territory. The company, based in Haifa Bay, specialises in the rental and sale of forklifts and access equipment
