Alimak buys Canadian access specialist
20 July 2026
Alimak Group has agreed to buy Canadian suspended access and fall protection specialist Pro-Bel for MSEK1370 million (US$142 million).
Based near Toronto, Pro-Bel is a MSEK473 million (US$49 million) revenue business that makes permanent building maintenance units (BMUs), fall protection equipment (anchors, davit arm systems, outrigger beams) and suspended access platforms.
Pro-Bel, which employs 140 people, will be integrated within Alimak’s Facade Access division.

Alimak said the acquisition would create “strategic and operational value over time” by strengthening its position in facade access in North America, by increasing its exposure to low- and mid-rise buildings, and by expanding Pro-Bel into new geographies.
Ole Kristian Jødahl, president and CEO of Alimak Group, said; “Pro-Bel is a strong strategic fit for Alimak Group and supports our strategy to further diversify the business and increase resilience.
“The acquisition strengthens our position in North America, expands our offering and adds a highly profitable business with a proven track record of maintaining high profitability over time.
“Together, we will be even better positioned to create value for customers and continue delivering profitable growth for our owners,”
Alimak said Marc Lebel, the founder and CEO of Pro-Bel, will remain with the business for a transition period to support the integration.
“We are pleased to join Alimak Group and become part of a global leader in access and safety solutions”, said Lebel. “Alimak Group shares our long-term perspective, customer focus and commitment to quality and safety,”
The transaction is expected to close in July 2026.
