Australia's first Tadano cranes with 2.5 t capacity work platforms
30 September 2008
Australia's first two Tadano Hydraulic Truck Cranes featuring the new 2.5 tonne capacity extendable work platforms have arrived at Hanchard Crane Hire.
Delivered by Australia's largest crane retailer James Equipment, the Tadano AT-250S machines provide a working platform that is capable of lifting 2.5 t up to a maximum working height of 30 m.
When packed on top of the crane carrier, the standard work platform measures 1.8m wide and 3.4 m long. When more space is needed, the platform can be unfolded to create a larger working area 3.4m wide. This can be rotated 360 degrees and tilted for greater access, all through remote hydraulic controls on the platform.
The Tadano AT-250S is suited to a range of applications where height and access present an obstacle; the machine has already been used in power line construction and multi-story development projects.
"I first saw these new Tadano work platform cranes over in Japan and knew their versatility would suit our market," said Mike Hanchard, director of Hanchard Crane Hire.
"We now have the first two operating in Australia and their performance so far has been very good. They have already done a considerable amount of work on the Brisbane International Airport expansion with Bovis Lend Lease and a number of large electrical and telecommunications projects. Our clients are very happy with their stability."
