Brogan Group acquires Sunbelt Rentals UK hoist division

Brogan Group has acquired the hoist division of Sunbelt Rentals UK.

The deal includes Sunbelt Rentals UK hoist fleet, associated equipment and three operational sites across the UK. It also brings a team of over 100 experienced Sunbelt Rentals hoist technicians and engineers into Brogan, increasing the group’s international headcount to over 1,000 and strengthening its specialist expertise and operational capability across the UK and overseas.

The acquisition will boost Brogan’s fleet by more than 400 hoists, bringing its total fleet to nearly 900 machines.

Three new depots will be added in the Midlands, North East and North West, enabling the group to extend its service to major cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle, as well as Edinburgh, Glasgow and the wider Scottish market.

Brogan already maintains a prominent presence in London and the South East, particularly in hoists and mast climbers. With this acquisition, its hoist offering will now have nationwide prominence in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, said the company.

It also supports Brogan’s international position in mainland Europe and North America, where the company has seen significant growth, particularly in common tower and hoist projects.

New trading agreement

As part of the acquisition, Brogan has signed a trading agreement with Sunbelt Rentals UK, under which Brogan will offer its clients a wider range of complementary services from Sunbelt Rentals.

In turn, for any hoist or mast climber requirements, Sunbelt Rentals UK will work exclusively with Brogan, which will provide hoist services to its UK customer base, ensuring consistency of service for its existing clients.

Phil Parker, CEO of Sunbelt Rentals UK, said, “This strategic decision aligns with our Sunbelt 4.0 strategy to drive long-term growth, foster innovation and deliver added value to our customers.

“By establishing a closer working relationship with Brogan Group, we’re confident this will enhance service delivery and create lasting benefits for our shared customer base.”

Brogan Group CEO, James Brogan, commented, “The acquisition of Sunbelt Hoists is key to our strategic growth plans. It strengthens our ability to deliver access solutions at scale, offering clients premium equipment and service delivery. In addition, it will boost our skills base, enabling us to support major projects internationally. Our long-term trading partnership with Sunbelt will also unlock new opportunities that benefit both companies.”
