Coates CEO Murray Vitlich on ‘the evolution of hire’

Australia’s largest rental business Coates, formally Coates Hire, is expanding its remit beyond traditional equipment rental to focus on bespoke engineering and industrial services.

The company, which last month confirmed it had dropped the word ‘Hire’ from the name it had used since 1955, has a track record in engineering and industrial services alongside traditional equipment hire.

Its aim is to double the current 10 % share of its revenues from engineering and industrial services within five years.
