Doka USA celebrates Construction Safety Week

Doka USA used this year’s Construction Safety Week, May 6-10, to highlight the importance of workplace safety cultures.

Construction Safety Week is the U.S. construction industry’s annual week-long, safety-focused event, designed to promote worker safety and wellness. This year the event partnered with OSHA and its National Safety Stand-Down initiative to help prevent falls in construction, which is a leading cause of injury to workers.

“Safety Week creates an opportunity to not only to recommit to our internal safety but also to demonstrate the advantages of our built-in safety features in all our high quality, formwork, shoring and scaffolding solutions, and well-thought out and designed safety systems,” Doka said. “The safety and success of any construction project is determined by the individual decisions and actions of every team member. That’s why this year’s Safety Week emphasizes the importance of working together to build a culture that values every voice, and ensures everyone in every role feels seen, heard and supported.”

Throughout the year, Doka USA worked to build and reinforce a strong internal safety culture with dedicated operations and yard teams, preassembly crews, field service teams, as well as office employees.

“Construction is both physically and mentally demanding. We believe as leaders in the formwork, shoring and scaffolding industry, we have a responsibility to acknowledge the challenges our customers and workers face and create an environment where safety is a priority and easy, whether that’s in our Doka facilities or on jobsites,” said Michael Kennedy, CEO, Doka USA. “[Construction Safety Week was] a chance to renew our commitment to each other to create a safe, supported environment across the industry.
