Eurosafe Solutions has just been awarded a five-year contract to test and inspect the wire access systems and eyebolts on the Summit building at Hafod Eryri - Mt Snowdon, in Wales.

The UK-based fall protection and inspection company worked on the initial design and installation of the systems at the building, which opened in June 2009.

Now, the same team will return regularly to Snowdonia National Park, which towers 1085m above sea level and is the highest point in the British Isles outside of Scotland. The Summit building attracts more than 500000 visitors per year.

Peter Trumper, head of property services at the Snowdonia National Park Authority, said: "This is a uniquely hazardous environment and planned scheduled maintenance is essential to minimise the risks to our staff and outside workers. We chose the wire access systems from Eurosafe Solutions when the building was designed as they had minimal visual impact on the building and the environment, yet they were very robust and met all our safety access requirements. We have been delighted with the way the building looks and how the access systems have performed in these conditions."

This is not the first iconic building Eurosafe has worked on. The company lists the O2 Arena, The Millennium Stadium, Manchester Evening News Arena, Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, and the Emirates Stadium all in its customer list.
