UK based Aldercote has been developing a fork lift truck mounted access platform, which will give forklift truck owners the chance to own their own access solution.

Taking the advice of the Health and Safety Executive the machine, called Hymate, has been designed as an integrated platform having an emergency stop button in the basket that shuts down the engine.

Hymate has a CE certificate and does not fall under the PM28 rules for non integrated work platform, so the unit requires the six month LOLER inspection.

The working height above the forks is 5.5 m with an outreach of 3.3m, depending on the forklift truck chosen the safe weight limit is either 120 kg or 200 kg.

Pictured is the prototype unit which has been on test for the past few months, Aldercote envisages making a few minor changes to the unit. The price and the best route to market are yet to be decided.
