French renter Batamat invests in bluetooth tracking technology

French rental company Batamat has implemented a Bluetooth-based fleet tracking system for its rental fleet.

The company, which operates from four rental locations around Lille in northern France, has worked with Paris-based asset tracking company Ubi Solutions to fit its fleet of more than 800 machines with Ubi’s BLE trackers.

The system, which uses smartphones next to the tags to act as relays, connects the fleet to Ubi’s IoT platform, giving Batamat real-time information on the location of its fleet.

Batamat is based in northern France and has a fleet of more than 800 machines.

Guillaume Rambure, operations manager at Batamat, said the system had transformed its logistics; “Today, thanks to this platform, we can identify the exact position of the machine with one click.

“For our drivers, it is an immediate efficiency gain. We optimize our routes, reduce the kilometres travelled empty, and we are much more precise with our delivery times.

“All our machines are now equipped with the system, allowing us to maintain constant visibility. Specifically, this means that if a machine goes outside of a normal usage framework, we can quickly detect it and act accordingly.

“It is a performance lever that improves both our customer service, our profitability, and the peace of mind of our teams.”
