Guide to construction electrification published in France

A consortium of French trade associations promoting decarbonisation in construction has published a guide to how to carry out a project with electric machines.

The CINERGIC group, which includes C-MAT, DLR, EVOLIS, FFB and FNTP, said the guide - How to carry out a project with electric machinery? - is designed as an educational and operational tool and collects together best practices.

It is targeted at project owners of all sizes who wishing to integrate electric vehicles into their building or public works operations.

The guide explains to clients the possibilities in terms of electrification of construction sites, so that they can integrate them with confidence from the programming phase of their projects.

It also aims to make clients aware that their choices are part of a commitment on their part to the decarbonisation project, and suggests that they consider different solutions well in advance of their project so not to be constrained at a later date.

The guide looks at technology to power and recharge vehicles on construction sites, temporary connection to the electricity grid, low-carbon generators, mobile battery systems, interchangeable batteries, connection to charging stations and mobile charging solutions developed by Enedis.

It also offers concrete recommendations to promote the use of electrical equipment at each stage of a public contract, from the programming of works to the consultation of companies, including the design and monitoring of the site.

At the same time, CINERGIC has welcomed the opening on 30 June 2026 of a new scheme supported by government agency ADEME to provide financial support for the acquisition of new electric construction machinery, for purchase or rental, and for electric retrofit operations.

The scheme is now open on ADEME’s platform.
