Haulotte announces third quarter results

The Haulotte Group's consolidated sales for the third quarter of 2009 were $72.66 (€48.7) million compared with $177.13 (€118.1) million for the same period last year, a decline of 58.8 percent.

The company said business has stabilized at a level of activity at $74.6 (€50) million per quarter since the beginning of the 2009 fiscal year.

Sales for nine months were $222.73 (€148.5) million compared with $565.16 (€376.8) million in September 2008, a decline of 60.6 percent.

The company said equipment sales represented 70.6 percent of total revenue this year versus 86.7 percent in 2008, a decline in sales of 60 percent.

Shares of revenue from services and rental activities are stronger with declines of 18 percent and 8 percent, respectively.

Haulotte said European sales declined 68.5 percent to $155.68 (€103.8) million and North American sales increased 39 percent to $38.09 (€25.4) million, including $25.34 (€16.9) million from its BilJax subsidiary.

Asia and Latin America represented 8.4 percent and 5.4 percent of total revenue with respective decreases versus the same period of 2008 with 15 percent and 51 percent.
