Former Ashtead executive joins H&E board

H&E Equipment Services has appointed former Sunbelt Rentals and Ashtead Group executive Suzanne H Wood to its board of directors.

Wood, who assumed the role on March 13, has previously served as Senior Vice President and CFO of construction aggregates producer Vulcan Materials.

Prior to Vulcan, Wood was the Group Finance Director and CFO of Ashtead Group and Executive VP and CFO of its subsidiary Sunbelt Rentals.

John Engquist, executive chairman and director of H&E, said, “Ms. Wood is highly qualified to serve as a director on the Board of the Company given her extensive experience in the construction and rental industries. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge to her role.

“We welcome Ms. Wood to our Board and look forward to her leadership and counsel.”

Wood will continue her involvement with both RELX Group, where she serves as senior independent director and chair of the audit committee, and Ferguson plc, where she sits on the board of directors and is chair of the audit committee.

US-headquartered H&E Equipment Services supplies aerial work platforms, earthmoving equipment, material handling and general equipment throughout the US.

In 2022, the company sold its Komatsu distribution business in Louisiana to Waukesha-Pearce Industries, a move described by H&E as its “final step” in its shift to become a pure equipment rental company.
