German rental and sales company HKL Baumaschinen is to roll out a network of new ‘Baushop 2.0’ stores nationally after a successful trial in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel.

The new equipment sales locations – which are in addition to its main equipment rental activity – are updated versions of the company’s existing Baushop sales outlets, with a more open space and specialist zones for different equipment types, including zero emission products.

The company will convert its existing sales stores step-by-step, and could include Austria in the programme next year.

The first ‘ HKL Baushop 2.0’ in Hamburg offers a “modern concept, practical presentation and clear brand positioning.”

“The feedback on the ‘Baushop 2.0 ́ is strong,” said Jan Böttcher, Branch Manager at the Hamburg location, where the trial store opened in March. He said the “experience factor” of the new concept had been well received.

Michael Lemm, Sales Manager at HKL Baushop, said; “Thanks to the more open room structure and the presentation of our range according to topics and areas of application, customers not only quickly find the product they are looking for, but also all the additional articles they need.”

The stores will focusing on well-known brands such as Probst, Norton and Nedo, as well as new electric models, such as Milwaukee tools including 25 kg cordless demolition hammers, cordless core drills and 350mm cordless cut-off grinders.

“These power tools are in no way inferior to [mains powered] devices in terms of power”, said Lemm, “At the same time, they optimally support emission-free work.”

HKL’s markting manager, Ulf Böge, told IRN that although the Baushops were not the largest part of the business they were important because they provided a one-stop-shop for rental and sales and reinforced the “connection” with customers.
