HSS ProService launches ‘hire & buy’ service

UK rental marketplace HSS ProService Marketplace has launched a “Hire & Buy” service that will allow contractors to both rent equipment and purchase building materials. ProService said it will make it easy to source and place orders from multiple suppliers on a single platform.

The company said the addition of building material sales to its marketplace would strengthen it as a one-stop-shop for contractors and tradespeople, reducing the friction, delays and administrative burden associated with managing multiple suppliers.

Tom Shorten, CEO of HSS ProService Marketplace, said “Our customers are telling us they want simplicity and our new service has been built around one clear need: flexibility.

The ProService App allows customers to source equipment from 400 suppliers.

“Whether the contract is big or small, our customers want one place where they can hire the equipment, buy the materials and procure what they need quickly. The new Hire & Buy service on HSS ProService Marketplace is our response to that.”

Materials on the marketplace will range from concrete mixers, sand and cement for smaller projects, through to 4m access towers or power solutions to commercial grade timber, specialist equipment and large-scale site requirements.

HSS ProService Marketplace was born out of the former HSS Hire shops business. The physical shops are now run by The Hire Service Company - a separate business - while ProService Marketplace trades as a stand-alone digital rental marketplace. ProService also has a contractual re-hire agreement with Speedy Hire.
