UK-based Instant Tool & Plant Hire have invested in a duo of Snorkel trailer mounted lifts for its hire fleet.

The Snorkel TL37J and TL49J towable booms.

The high specification Snorkel TL37J and TL49J towable booms are both bi-energy powered and are equipped with Snorkel’s optional friction drive system for easier movement when unhitched from a vehicle.

The units are the first Snorkel products to be purchased by Instant Tool & Plant Hire, and were handed over in early October.

Manufactured at Snorkel’s UK facility in Washington, Tyne & Wear, the TL37J and TL49J feature a heavy-duty, steel construction.

The Snorkel TL37J can reach a maximum working height of 12.9m, and is capable of lifting 215kg. It is equipped with hydraulic outriggers for easy set up, and benefits from a 1.3m jib boom 160° platform rotation for maximum manoeuvrability at height.

The larger TL49J can lift a maximum capacity of 200kg to a working height of up to 16.7m. An articulating/telescopic boom design ensures compact towing dimensions, while delivering a maximum outreach of up to 8.5m when extended.

“When we started the business in 2019, we worked closely with a large British manufacturer who is local to us, and we are keen to continue to buy British-made products, where possible,” said Andy and Joanne Macartney, founders of Instant Tool & Plant Hire.

“These UK-built towable booms are ideal for our customers, many of whom are completing projects on evenings and weekends, and can simply visit our location and take the equipment with them to get the job done, without worrying about deliveries and collections.”

Andrew Fishburn, managing director for Snorkel UK and vice president for Strategic Accounts – EMEA, for Snorkel, said “We are delighted to have delivered our first units to Instant Tool & Plant Hire, and would like to thank Andy & Joanne for their trust placed in Snorkel UK.

“Towable products are a great fit for their business model, and I am confident that these lifts will become a big hit with both their residential and commercial customers.”
