Powered access rental specialist JMS has become the first operator in the UK to add Nagano crawler boom lifts to its hire fleet.

The company made the move to support the increasing number of clients working on greenfield construction sites across the UK. It has invested in the Nagano S15Auj telescopic crawler boom lift and the Nagano 20ATuj articulating crawler boom lift.

JMS managing director Mark Jackson said, “Our Nagano crawler booms give our customers new options for working at height across rough and unstable terrain. They augment the capabilities of our wheeled rough terrain boom lifts and tracked spider platforms, so we’re expecting them to be very popular with clients.”

According to JMS, construction on greenfield sites, for new road and rail infrastructure, as well as housing and commercial development, is predicted to increase over the next 10 years, increasing the need for all terrain platforms. “Our customers want extra options to work at height over these new development sites, where productivity and operational performance in difficult environments will be vital,” said Jackson.

Thomas Méheust, European sales director for Nagano products at distributor Vertimac, said the Japanese Nagano brand was starting to be recognised around Europe. “We are very pleased that JMS has become the first company in the UK and Ireland to receive Nagano crawler aerial working platforms.

“With a large stock of machines and spare parts at Vertimac in Belgium, we can offer first class support to all Nagano customers across the UK and Europe.”

The S15Auj telescopic crawler has a maximum working height of 15m, maximum horizontal outreach of 10.3m, and a basket capacity of 250kg. It has a gradeability of 20 degrees, weighs 8,420kg, and is powered by a 3-cylinder Kubota low-emissions diesel engine (Tier 5, no DPF).

The 20ATuj articulating crawler provides a maximum working height of 20m, maximum outreach of 8m and a maximum basket capacity of 230kg. It weighs 9,450kg, is powered by the same 3-cylinder Kubota low-emissions diesel engine (Tier 5, no DPF), and has a telescopic boom and a jib boom for highly precise basket placement.
