The all-terrain machines offer a maximum working height of 42m and a lateral outreach of 16.7m, with a platform capacity of 400kg, including two people.
Designed for demanding applications, the Puma feature an approach angle of 70 degrees, ground clearance of 1.35m and the ability to climb gradients of up to 45%. It can also be stabilised on slopes of up to 30% and repositioned while in their working configuration.
Teupen launched the PUMA42GTX in April 2016 at Bauma in Germany. Developed in collaboration with Swiss excavator manufacturer Menzi Muck, it combined Teupen’s aerial platform technology with a four-wheel-drive walking excavator chassis, creating an unusual all-terrain access platform.

Weighing 17.6 tonnes, the wheeled platforms are equipped with an articulated jib and rotating basket, providing improved access around obstacles such as overhead cables, roof structures and beams.
For work on high-voltage power lines, Joly offers specialist equipment including an external earthing system, a rotating jib with a 120kg lifting winch and an 8-tonne winch.
The company says the machines’ combination of working height, outreach and exceptional off-road capabilities allows them to tackle applications that would be difficult or impractical for conventional aerial work platforms.
