Kiloutou aims to ‘challenge industry standards’ with employee initiatives

Kiloutou said it hopes to “challenge industry standards” with new employee support initiatives, including giving both parents paid absence in the event of a miscarriage and a scheme to give parents days off when a child is ill.

The France-based rental firm said both parents will be granted two days paid leave in the event of a miscarriage.

“When a miscarriage occurs, the second parent is still largely excluded from workplace support schemes”, said the company.

“To bring about change in a sector that has traditionally been male-dominated, Kiloutou has announced the introduction of miscarriage leave available to both parents concerned.”

In addition, it said it aimed to take “everyday parenting” into account by providing a dedicated scheme giving days off for both fathers and mothers when a child is ill.

Kiloutou said that through these commitments, it wanted to “challenge industry standards and open up a dialogue on the situation faced by the other parent when dealing with these difficult circumstances, whilst encouraging a more balanced sharing of parental responsibilities.”
