Kubota UK has marked its first entry into the material handling sector in the UK with the launch of the KTH4815-2 telehandler.

The unit, which was shown to dealers last week, has been available in Europe for a number of years and is set to make its way to dealers in April.

First unveiled at agriculture exhibition Lamma in January, the compact unit measures 1.6m in width and 2m in height.

It has a maximum lifting height of 4.8 metres and top lifting capacity of 1.5 tonnes, while it is powered by Kubota’s own EU Stage V emissions compliant Kubota D1803 three-cylinder engine.

The engine provides peak output of 37kW and is placed on the right-hand side between the front and rear wheels which is said to provide “generous service access” to filters and the battery isolator, in addition to providing “easy access to the handler’s cooling pack.”

Available in four different variations (two  canopy-equipped models with a curved front screen, and two with fully glazed cabs with a two-piece door), the entry-level KTH4815-2 excludes a 170kg rear counterweight but comes equipped with 10/75x15.3 narrow tyres.

The highest specification KTH4815-2 also includes three-mode steering, adding two-wheel and crab steering modes to the standard four-wheel steering function. Three work lights, side-view mirrors, cab heating and a radio are all included on the fully glazed cab model.

Hydraulic performance extends to up to 81 litres/min, with 51 litres available through an auxiliary circuit for powered attachments carried on the handler’s Eurohitch headstock. The telehandler is also fitted with a proportional joystick, as well as adjustable flow rate and memory function.

Engine service intervals are every 500 hours, the company said, and all four variants are offered with a two-year, 2,000-hour warranty.

Meanwhile, the company is also adding 10 diesel-powered RT compact wheeled loaders to its range in the UK, with tipping loads ranging from 550kg to 1,600kg and lift heights from 2.17m to 2.96m.

Also revealed at Lamma, the units are available in operating weights from 1,100kg up to 2,900kg and have power outputs from 15-36kW from EU Stage V compliant Kubota engines.

Depending on the model, cab or canopy options are available, with ROPS and FOPS protection. The two most powerful models feature a DPF/DOC emissions control module, along with a 6,000-hour service interval.

Models equipped with a fully-glazed cab include a heater and radio, plus road lighting kit and rear-view mirrors. Engine service intervals are every 500 hours. The narrowest model, the entry-level RT100-2 measures 920mm wide., while the widest model comes in at 1.4m.
