Leguan AT range goes fully electric

Leguan Lifts will launch the fully electric All-Terrain series of spider lifts at APEX, taking place 2-4 June in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The company said the spider lift industry is rapidly evolving as contractors, arborists, rental companies and facility maintenance professionals demand emission free, silent and full performance spider lifts without compromises.

Leguan Lifts is answering the demand with the electric 170, 195, 225 and 265 All-Terrain series lifts using the OptiTemp battery, produced in-house by parent company Avant Power. He line-up, which provides a full day of work on a single charge, is an option to the existing diesel-powered All-terrain series.

The offer diesel-equivalent performance, according to the manufacturer, and unlike generic battery solutions, the unique liquid-immersion technology keeps the battery pack operating at an optimal temperature at all times.

The battery pack is designed and manufactured in Finland by Avant Power to match Leguan’s requirements, with the electric infrastructure engineered as an integrated system to provide efficient and reliable operation.

Rather than an additional model to the existing lineup, the OptiTemp-powered Leguan is a power train option to the current fleet of the diesel-powered units.

100% electric design 

The spider lift and its user interface remain the same. Both powertrains offer all the same premium features and design Leguan is known for. “We did not want to cut corners with the electrification. The market is switching rapidly towards silent and emission-free machinery, and therefore this electrification project has been one of the most important projects in our company’s history,” said Leguan’s VP of sales and marketing Jori Mylläri.

“Many hybrid options on the market combine a combustion engine with a small battery pack, offering only limited battery capacity and compromising performance when compared with traditional diesel-powered spider lifts. Leguan Lifts OptiTemp-powered lifts, by contrast, are fully electric.

Delivering a full day of operation on a single charge, the series supports multi-day projects without recharging and in many applications, while maintaining diesel equivalent boom and transition speeds.
