Loxam Iberia enters Asturias with acquisition

Loxam’s Spanish subsidiary has acquired the VYCAS portable accommodation rental company in Gijón, giving the company its first location in the Asturias region of the country.

VYCAS has been in business since 1991, led by managing director Ángel Seisdedos Rivas, and has around 30 employees and a fleet that includes 1,100 modular accommodation units.

The company also rents portable toilets, storage containers, fences and scaffold towers. The purchase also gives Loxam a manufacturing capability for modules and fencing.

Loxam said the acquired business will have revenues of around €6.2 million this year and has a “track record of sustained growth”.

Loxam Iberia added; “The addition of VYCAS will enable Loxam Iberia to strengthen its modular solutions offering and expand its capacity to respond to projects requiring temporary spaces, ancillary facilities and equipment for construction and industry.”

It is the second acquisition that Loxam has made in Spain this year. In May, it bought Marzabú Hnos, based in Ciudad Real, a specialist in aerial platforms, forklift trucks and power.
