Rental software provider MCS Rental Software has said it has marked a “significant milestone” in its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility by becoming a carbon-neutral business.

The company said neutrality was achieved by “meticulously calculating greenhouse gas emissions” which allowed it to gain a “thorough understanding of its environmental impact” and offset its total emissions.

This, said MCS, provides a platform for strategic initiatives to minimise and offset these emissions.

A number of initiatives have been implemented by the company in recent years, both for its own emissions and emissions of the equipment rental industry, including the introduction of paperless processes and enhanced asset utilisation.

Guy van der Knaap, MCS managing director, said, “This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to driving sustainability within the rental industry.

“It requires coordinated efforts across nations, industries, and communities to mitigate the causes of climate change and adapt to its impacts. We recognise the importance of environmental responsibility and are proud to take this significant step toward mitigating our environmental impact.”
