UK-based MEP Hire has expanded the size of its low-level access equipment fleet, with 150 micro scissor units from manufacturer Genie.

The rental company invested in the Genie GS-1432m micro scissor lift model, which will be available to construction sector customers through its 11 branches across the nation.

Capable of fitting through a standard doorway, the scissor lift offers a maximum working height of 6.3m and have a platform capacity of 227kg.

The standout feature of the GS-1432m model is an all-electric and maintenance-free AC drive system that is said to reduce both repair costs and the total cost of ownership, while increasing productivity.

Although the company did not disclose the value of its equipment investment, Andy Menham, Product and Sector Development Manager for MEP Hire, said, “Thanks to their lightweight construction of just 900kg and compact footprint, Genie GS-1432m micro scissors are a good offering for mechanical and electrical customers working on suspended flooring.”

“MEP Hire partnered with Genie due to the impressive build quality of their machines. Robust, reliable and efficient they are also incredibly easy to operate, allowing users to complete tasks safely and efficiently.”
