Multitel lights up Rome piazza
13 December 2022

The traditional Christmas tree in Piazza Venezia, Rome, has been illuminated with 100,000 bulbs, thanks to the help of a pair of Multitel Pagliero truck mounted platforms.
Twenty-two metres high, the fir tree stands in front of the Altare della Patria (The Victor Emmanuel II National Monument), in one of the city’s most prominant squares from which five major streets branch off.
Titocci, a Capitoline rental and sales company, was comissioned for the tree set-up. The operation required the simultaneous use of two Multitel Pagliero truck mounted telescopic platforms, including the J335 ALU, an older unit, and the more recently produced MJ375. They offer working heights of 35m and 37.5m.
The latter is mounted on an 18 tonne truck and has a maximum

horizontal outreach of 25.8m, while the turret’s 360° continuous rotation and extendable jib enables the operator to position themselves precisely at the work area.
The machine also offers smooth, fast movements, thanks to EVE, Multitel Pagliero’s evolved electronics system, which balances the extension of the stabilisers with the boom sections.

Both the MJ375 and J335 ALU have a compact footprint that makes them suitable for urban operations in restricted spaces.
