Modular scaffold system manufacturer Layher has introduces a new frame-based shoring system to the UK market. The Layher Allround TG60 shoring system has been developed to complement the company’s Allround range of scaffolding systems.

“The use of shoring systems to provide a support for concrete construction is well-established, with the need for safe and quick erection always paramount,” said Layher’s UK managing director, Sean Pike. “The Allround TG60 – which provides 60kN loading capacity per leg or standard – addresses these needs head-on. The shoring frames are available in three different size options on two faces of each tower, while the remaining two sides can be simply constructed from a client’s existing Allround stocks.”

The new TG60 has been designed for quick installation, with lightweight components to facilitate ease of handling. Layher has also reduced the number of standard parts required, by using a rosette connection system.

The new TG60 is being put to use on a major construction project in Liverpool – a new wastewater treatment plans being undertaken by Galliford, Costains and Atkins (GCA) joint venture for United Utilities. The shoring system is central to the project that is seeing the largest concrete pour currently in Europe – some 11,900 m3.

Upon completion in 2015, the project will provide a total of 16 settling tanks and a duel level weir flow system, making it one of the most significant builds of its type in the country.
