New president for Canadian Rental Association

The new president of the Canadian Rental Association (CRA) is Warren Carriere, a 25-year veteran of Canada’s rental industry whose full-time role is sales manager, climate, for Cooper Equipment Rentals, based in Calgary, Alberta.

Carrier takes over from Sheldon Fingler who has completed his two-year term as president.

CRA paid tribute to Fingler; ”we want to extend our deepest gratitude for his outstanding leadership, vision, and dedication to the rental industry across Canada…His passion for collaboration and community has left a lasting impact on our organization and our industry.

Cooper Equipment Rentals manager Warren Carriere has been elected president of the Canadian Rental Association.

New president Carriere, in addition to his career in the industry, has spent the past decade contributing to local and national CRA boards.

CRA said; “Born in Calgary and raised in Saskatchewan, Warren values community, leadership, and the importance of a strong, connected rental network across Canada…Warren is enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead and the positive direction in which the association is moving.”

CRA celebrates 60th year

The change in the presidency comes as CRA enters its 60th anniversary year.

CRA said; “Since 1966, CRA has seen firsthand how the industry’s ingenuity, diversity and hard work help Canadians make big things happen in every region of the country.

“This milestone recognizes a sector whose heritage is rooted in enabling progress and whose future is driven by innovation. Together, these strengths continue to build communities and support a national rental market that was projected to grow 3.4% in 2025 to reach $8.5 billion.”

The organisation, which is based in Stoney Creek, Ontario, said the rental industry had played an important part in nation-building projects and events, from Expo 67 to three Olympic Games.

“Beyond these milestones, the rental sector has long supported the growth of Canadian industry, culture, and local communities.

“It keeps construction projects moving in every season and enables events of all sizes. Rental companies provide practical, flexible solutions for businesses, municipalities, and organizers, and offer immediate support during emergencies through temporary power, climate control, lighting, structures, and site services.

“While much of this work happens out of sight, its impact is visible across the country in the progress, connection, and resilience it makes possible.”
