New ranges and deliveries from Manitou

Manitou Group is presenting new ranges of its semi-industrial and rough-terrain forklifts at the APEX show in Maastricht, marking the launch of ten new 100% electric models equipped with lithium-ion batteries.

It is also presenting a 12m electric scissor lift for the first time in Europe, which says the group reflects the acceleration in its energy transition, with the aim of selling 28% electric machines by 2030. The company has also confirmed the first deliveries of the new MT 1440 e / MT 1840 e electric high-lift telehandlers in Europe.

The launch of the MC (Manitou Compact rough-terrain) and MSI (Semi-Industrial) electric ranges responds to a profound change in customer requirements.

“Today’s customers are looking for solutions that can evolve between two very distinct environments: the power needed for outdoor applications and the cleanliness required for indoor environments - warehouses, greenhouses, food processing industries),” said the company.

This dual use is coupled with increasing regulations in urban areas, where the required pollution and noise thresholds sometimes exclude combustion engines. The MC range has thus been enhanced by six models available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive for the most demanding terrain.

This all-terrain range is aimed primarily at the construction, events and agricultural markets.

The MSI range now includes four new semi-industrial models, particularly suited to recycling centres, sawmills and para-agricultural applications.

To support this transition, Manitou Group will distribute these electric forklifts starting at the end of 2026. All equivalent combustion-powered models have also been redesigned and will be available by the end of 2026.

Lithium-ion efficiency

The adoption of lithium-ion technology makes it possible to offer machines with the same footprint as combustion models, guaranteeing the same agility in tight spaces. These batteries offer autonomy ranging from half a day to a full day’s work in two configurations: 29 kWh as standard and 41 kWh for intensive applications.

Charging is fully flexible thanks to an on-board 3 kW charger, compatible with a standard 220 V socket, complemented by a 9 kW option for ultra-fast 2.5-hour charging cycles for a charge time of 20% to 80%.

The MC e and MSI e models deliver performance comparable to that of the combustion-powered ranges, with load capacities ranging from 1.8 to 3.5 tonnes and lift heights reaching 5.5m to 6m, and all this without the slightest emission of pollutants.

Thanks to a state-of-the-art hydrostatic transmission, operators benefit from a very high level of precision in their movements. The MC e stands out in particular for its 2 or 4-wheel drive capabilities with an oscillating rear axle, while the MSIe is particularly suited to handling long or bulky loads on asphalt or stony ground.

On-board technology plays a key role: several driving modes (eco/standard) modulate the machine’s power and responsiveness for better fuel management.

Mounted on «silent blocks» to filter vibrations, it drastically reduces noise levels, thereby reducing operator fatigue. Access is simple with a single step. The man machine interface has been optimized, with a new central data display and a cross-shaped lever for intuitive hydraulic control. Manitou Group’s patented JSM joystick is also available as an option.

Telehandler deliveries 

The first deliveries of the new MT 1440 e / MT 1840 e electric high-lift telehandlers have been made in Europe. These models complete Manitou’s 100% electric telehandler range and are designed for professionals looking for high performance on site. Powered by a 63.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, the MT 1440 e and MT 1840 e can cover a full day’s work. Both models feature an integrated 9 kW charger and are compatible with Manitou’s 30 kW rapid charger. Their 25 km/h travel speed makes it easy to move from one site to another.

Manitou has also completed its Oxygen electric range with the launch of the SE 1212 scissor lift. This new 12m working height model complements the existing 8m SE 0808 and 10m SE 1008 versions. With a lifting capacity of 350kg and up to three operators, it is designed for indoor and outdoor applications on stabilised ground. Equipped as standard with 5.76 kWh batteries, it is autonomous for a full working day - 8 hours minimum - without interruption and requires less maintenance.

To enhance the experience of its rental and key account customers, Manitou Group is upgrading its service offering by optimizing its Customer Service Platform (CSP).

Accessible via a unified digital platform, the system offers each customer a single point of contact who mobilizes a network of local experts identified by the group to meet all their needs: commissioning, maintenance, warranty and machine overhaul. Thanks to real-time tracking of each intervention and automatic notifications at every stage, rental companies and key accounts benefit from complete visibility of their requests. Deployed in Germany, the new platform will be extended to Benelux and the UK in the summer of 2026, and will also be available in France starting in 2027.
