New Skyjack boom for China/Southeast Asia

Skyjack division is launching a new battery-powered rough terrain telescopic boom lift.

The SJ28 TE+, developed specifically for the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets and will be produced at the company’s facility in Tianjin.

Available with a 28m (91’ 10”) working height and suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the new SJ28 TE++ includes innovative design features and a high platform capacity. 

The first delivery of the machine is scheduled for February 2026

Efficient system  

The all-electric, four-wheel, axle-based drive provides improved efficiency and rough terrain performance. The drive system uses a high-performance AC induction traction motor and AC pump motor system to optimize torque, power, and speed. Efficient, maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries, paired with straightforward troubleshooting, allow for low lifetime ownership and running costs.

“The Skyjack team understands the importance of maximum uptime, so our equipment is designed to provide just that. All major service points are easily accessible, enabling straightforward troubleshooting and repairs,” added Chan Tran, Skyjack Asia-Pacific Vice President of Operations. “The SJ28 TE+ has been designed to meet true jobsite performance expectations, whether it be navigating various rough terrain conditions or lifting the work platform.”

Skyjack’s Axldrive provides up to 45% gradeability and smooth operation in challenging conditions, said the company, while the Easydrive direction sensing system allows the boom to move in the general direction of the joystick’s movement related to the way the operator is facing.

Other features include a 360 degree continuous turret rotation, multi-function capability, and an articulating jib with an auto-levelling platform allows for excellent jobsite positioning. For increased productivity and utility, the SJ28 TE+ features  platform capacities of up to 454 kg (1000 lbs).

The new electric boom is compatible with 220V and 380V power supplies and features an 80V system, and is powered by 519AH lithium-ion batteries paired with an automatic battery charger. Bulk charging of the lithium-ion battery takes less than five hours at 60A and less than four hours at 80A, allowing for increased working hours.

An easy-to-understand control systems, is also on offer, with on-board diagnostics, large display, simple language readouts, and load-sensing information.
