Protective coatings specialist Pyeroy completed the refurbishment of the Ouseburn Railway Viaduct, which towers 108 ft (33 m) above the River Ouseburn, in January

Pyeroy has completed a two-year contract to refurbish the Ouseburn Railway Viaduct in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, using scaffolding to reach all areas of the project.

The industrial services company grit blasted all the ironwork on the 918 ft (280 m) long structure before final surface preparation and the application of three coats of high performance paint.

Pyeroy has worked on a number of bridge projects across the UK, including the Forth Rail Bridge and Tower Bridge.

The UK£1.5 million refurbishment of the Ouseburn Railway Viaduct is part of a £10 million project undertaken by main contractor Carillion on behalf of Network Rail to strengthen and repair the Grade II viaduct, which carries the East Coast railway line over the Ouseburn Valley.
