The Snorkel A46JE electric boom with jib has a 14.1m platform height and 7.4m maximum outreach with zero tail swing for working in confined areas.

Snorkel will be showing the A46JE boom in China for the first time at BICES, it is a version of the A38E, which is produced in China for the Chinese market with additional reach and flexibility provided by a boom.

The A38E, electric boom has a maximum platform height of 11.5m and weighs 3850kg, for a good height-to-weight ratio, making it suitable for working on floors with low load-bearing restrictions.

Driveable at full height, the A38E can lift 215kg, or two people with tools. The boom design means there is very little front overhang, so it can work in tight spaces and the inside turning radius of 0.4m ensures the A38E is very manoeuvrable.

The A46JE has a 14.1m platform height and 7.4m maximum outreach with zero tail swing for working in confined areas and multi-function, variable speed platform controls for precision positioning. Also at BICES will be the A46JRT, which mounts the same boom on a diesel-powered chassis for rough terrain applications.

Nick Sowden, president of Snorkel Asia, said, "Snorkel's A series articulating boom lifts are energy efficient and reduce CO2 emissions, in line with BICES 2011's vision of how greener machines are the future."

Also on the Snorkel stand will be the TB66JRT rough terrain boom lift and the UL40 push-around mast lift.

Snorkel has a commited presence in China opening an office in Shanghai and a production facility in Jintanin 2008.

BICES takes place from 18-21 October 2011, in Beijing Jiuhua International Exhibition Centre.
