Spalding set to retire from Skyjack
17 March 2008
Mr Spalding joined Linamar in November 2002 – just four months after its acquisition of Skyjack – as president of its Industrial division and subsequently became president of Skyjack.
He has presided over the business during a time of enormous growth, with notable achievements including the company's return to the self–propelled boom sector and, most recently, a move into the telehandler market with the acquisition of fellow Canadian manufacturer Carelift.
Jim Jarrell, president and chief operating officer of Guelph–based Linamar, said; “Lloyd has been a great leader for Skyjack. [He] helped guide the company from troubled times to our current strength in the marketplace”.
Taking over at Skyjack as president will be Ken McDougall. A former vice president of operations at Skyjack, he joined Linamar in 1987 after graduating as a tool designer at the Ariss Manufacturing division, and since then has held various positions in engineering, quality, operations and sales and estimating.
