Spielhoff helps in restoration of German castle

Access equipment rental company Spielhoff GmbH, a member of the System Lift partnership, was brought in to help in the restoration work of a mediaeval castle in Wuppertal, Germany.

Intricate work needed to be carried out on the castle's chimneys, but the only access point was through the castle's narrow gate, which measured only 3.69m. A Spielhoff truck mounted aerial platform was called in to provide workers with access to the castle roof.

The truck fitted through the narrow castle gate. From inside the castle's courtyard the lift was able to provide workers with access to the 45m high roof. The truck's telescopic platform arm was able to take the workers over the roof, where they could examine the chimneys. The examination deemed that two of the chimneys were now unsafe and they had to be removed.

Germany based System Lift operates more than 70 rental outlets across Europe, providing access to more than 7500 vehicles, including cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts and telescopic platforms.
