Star Platforms retains FORS Silver
02 October 2024
The UK’s Star Platforms has retained the FORS Silver safety, efficiency and environmental accreditation for 2025.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation programme designed to set industry standards for fleet operators, aiming to enhance safety and sustainability across the transport sector.
By retaining its Silver accreditation, Star Platforms continues to demonstrate compliance with the FORS Standard, meeting the requirements of the CLOCS Standard for Construction Logistics and Transport for London’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) initiative, which is required across a wide range of sites.
Achieving this accreditation followed a thorough audit process, which evaluated several critical areas of the company’s operations. These included the safety performance of its fleet and drivers, the ongoing professional development and training of drivers, and efforts to reduce emissions, fuel consumption, and environmental impact. Additionally, the audit examined Star Platforms’ approach to road risk management, including accident analysis, as well as the overall safety specifications of its vehicles.
Del Patterson, Quality Health Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Manager, Star Platforms, commented, “This achievement reflects our continuous commitment to not only maintaining the highest standards in safety but also to improving the efficiency and sustainability of our fleet operations.”
Ian Mitchell, Director, Star Platforms, added: “With roads becoming busier year on year, and the demand for safer logistics increasing, it’s vital that we continue to uphold and surpass industry standards. This accreditation is a testament to the hard work of the entire Star Platforms team, and I want to thank everyone for their continued dedication to safety and excellence.”
