Negotiating the Energy Forum at Stralauler Platz in Berlin-Friedrichshain sounds like a puzzle put to the hero in an ancient myth.

Work must carried out inside the hall, three sides of the hall and the roof section are made of glass, there are higher glass sections sloping towards the back of the building and you must enter through a restricted double door. In addition the floor has a weight restriction and an easily damaged finish, what do you do?

Fortunately the answer requires technology and not a magic formula and this was supplied by Mateco in the form of its extra-telescopic-link access platform, XTG 500 D/PF/EKE.

The machine's link arm construction enabled it to reach the awkward sloping glass sections; it was compact enough to get through the door and light enough not to damage the delicate floor.

The XTG 500 is suitable for use inside and outside, its maximum working height is 50 m with maximum outreach of 17 m with a 80 kg load - the machine's maximum payload is 400kg. The swivelling access platform means the machine can provide access to sites at difficult angles. While rubber tracks and light weight make the machine suitable where floor loading is an issue.
