Ritchie Bros. has announced that it sold more than 3,000 pieces of equipment at its Moerdijk Live Xperience event in the Netherlands earlier this month.

Held from the 10 to 12 of October, the event featured 3,800 items and attracted 3,030 on-site and online bidders from around 80 countries.

The company said more than 440 excavators, 640 boom and scissor lifts, 130 wheel loaders and other equipment items, trucks and vehicles were sold at the auction, which was taking place in-person for the first time in three years.

Highlights included a 2020 Mercedes-Benz AROCS 2640 Concrete Pump Truck which sold for €165,000, a 2022 Magni RTH 6.25 Telescopic Forklift and a 2005 Spierings SK 1265 AT-6 6 Axle Tower Crane which sold for €142,500.

Elsewhere, a mini trade show was also held, with exhibits from the likes of Mascus, Rouse, SmartEquip, Ritchie Bros. Financial Services, RB Logistics and Off-Highway Research.

Meanwhile, an Insights Session with industry expert speakers Sebastian Popp (CECE), Chris Sleight (Off Highway Research) and Alex Schuessler (SmartEquip) was held on Tuesday.

High on the agenda was the shift in equipment supply and demand in the European market, with a particular focus on how it could impact the equipment industry in 2024.

Sam Wyant, president of International Sales at Ritchie Bros said, “Our customers use our digital platforms every day to buy, manage and sell, but the Moerdijk Live Xperience underscored the irreplaceable value of connecting face-to-face.

“This premier event allowed our auctioneers and bid catchers to conduct an exciting live auction with onsite and online bidding.

“It was quite an experience to see the auctioneers back in action in Moerdijk for the first time in nearly three years. We had a great crowd coming in on auction day to bid, as well as hundreds of online bidders from all over the world joining the live auction and Timed Auctions.”
