JLG 1350 SJP and Genie Z-135/70 booms at work on the new Buddh International Circuit in Delhi, India.

Indian rental company Onrent is supplying six JLG and Genie booms for work on the new Formula 1 Grand Prix track in New Delhi. The F1 race - the first ever in India - takes place on 28-30 October at the new Buddh International Circuit.

The machines, which include the JLG 1350 STP and Genie Z-135/70 booms pictured left, are being rented to Jaypee Construction, the contracting subsidiary of the track owners, Jaypee Greens.

Rakesh Modi, a director at Mdandt, which owns Onrent, told AI that the machines were putting the finishing touches to the race course and that they have been on site for around three months. He said the customer was also looking for 10 additional booms to help finish the project.

The Formula 1 circuit, costing around US$300 million and which will host the race for 10 years, forms part of the massive Jaypee Greens Sports City project currently being developed.
