Aldercote reveals new CZ pickup mount range

Aldercote has launched its new CZ range of pick-up mounted aerial platforms, debuting the first model of the range at the GIS Exhibition in Italy.

The new CZ140 is the manufacturer’s first platform model that can be mounted on a standard GVW pick-up truck, on models including the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux. 

It offers working heights of 14, 15 and 16m and an outreach of 6.2m with a working load of 250kg.

Marc Paish, Technical Director at Aldercote, said, “Thanks to our lattice subframe design, and the high-quality materials we use, our platforms are the lightest in their class. Our unique Axle Lift Front Stabiliser system takes all the load off the front wheels, eliminating uncontrolled movements and the risk of damage to the front suspension while increasing stability.”

Designed to offer both reduced CO2 emissions and low fuel costs, Aldercote’s CZ range is powered by the E-Drive self-charging hybrid electric system. The power system allows users to operate the platform with the pick-up truck’s ignition turned off.

While Aldercote has been incorporating the E-Drive system into its van mounted models for the past three years, the technology has now been updated to provide “smoother operation, millimetre accuracy,” and 25% higher operating speeds than conventional platforms. The manufacturer says the E-Drive system also enables users to operate the units in areas with emissions restrictions.

“For a platform operating for 3 hours/day for 200 working days, E-Drive will save an average 1.5 tons of CO2, and 600 litres of fuel,” said Aldercote. “Of course, there will be savings made on engine services too since they will not be needed as frequently as with conventional access platforms.”
